13,40,172 Ayushman cards issued in Tripura till Aug'23, says CM

Agartala, Sept 30: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Saturday said, along with other parts of the country the poor section of the state is also receiving the medical benefits under the Ayushman Bharat scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“A total of 13,40,172 Ayushman cards have been issued in Tripura till August, this year and 2,54,511 beneficiaries have already availed the medical benefits," the Chief Minister said.

Meanwhile, 3,993 out of over 2.54 lakh beneficiaries have received treatment outside the state, Dr. Saha said.

As of now, 129 government healthcare facilities and 4 private hospitals in Tripura have been enlisted under the AB-PMJAY.

In the meantime, Tripura has been awarded at the national level for highest percentage of utilization in public hospitals during Ayushman Arogya Manthan held in New Delhi on September 25-26 last.

The Chief Minister said, the present government is committed to delivering quality healthcare up to the last mile of the society and the efforts are evident.

He was addressing the state-level programme organized to mark five years completion of Ayushman Bharat- Jan Arogya Yojana and two years completion of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission at Prajna Bhavan, Agartala.

Speaking at the programme, he said, under the Ayushman Bharat- Digital Mission. He said, 5,37,671 ABHA cards have been issued in Tripura so far.

Health secretary Dr. Debashis Basu, central health official Dr. L. Swasticharan, Health Service director Dr. Supriya Mallik and other dignitaries attended the programme.

A good number of beneficiaries under AB-PMJAY have been felicitated and various hospitals/ healthcare institutions have been awarded for successful implementation of the scheme. South Tripura district unit has been awarded as the best unit in the state.
