Agartala, July 13: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb apprised Prime Minister Narendra Modi that 189 villages, seven Urban Local Bodies and two blocks were fully vaccinated in the state, according to a government press release.
Deb said this during the Prime Minister's virtual meet with the Chief Ministers of all North Eastern states regarding Covid situation on Tuesday.

"Out of 1,178 Gram Panchayats and villages in the state, full vaccination has been done in 189 villages, 7 out of 20 urban local bodies and 2 blocks", Deb told the Prime Minister.
He said, "Covid vaccination drive in the state is pacing up. First dose of covid vaccine has been done 100% and second dose of covid vaccine has been done 54.56% for 45 years above age group. First dose of covid vaccine has been done 56.40% and second dose of covid vaccine has been done 1.55% for 18 years above age group."
The Chief Minister stated that the state government was working to develop the primary sectors including agriculture to keep the economy stable during this pandemic time. He also highlighted that food packets and assistance were being provided to the poor and the needy families during the curfew.
The Chief Minister, according to the press release, also said that the health infrastructures in the state had improved to great extent.
"The numbers of Dedicated Covid Hospitals, dedicated Covid Care Centres, ICU beds and oxygen supported beds have increased. The state has 29 dedicated Covid care centres with 3,529 beds, 1028 oxygen supported beds, 157 ventilators, 3 oxygen plants and 1700 oxygen concentrators. More 22 oxygen plants are being constructed presently", he said.
Tripura Chief Secretary Kumar Alok, Principal Secretary of Health J.K Sinha and other health officials also attended the video conference.
The Chief Ministers all North Eastern states briefed the Prime Minister about Covid measures taken in their respective states. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh were also present in the video conference.
Meanwhile, Tripura Cabinet spokesman in a press conference on Tuesday said that the Prime Minister had mentioned Tripura's achievement in vaccination drive as 'commendable job' during his interactions with the North East Chief Ministers.
