Agartala, May 8: Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday asserted that the state government has so far provided more than 20,000 regular government jobs while maintaining transparency and merit-based recruitment procedures.
Speaking at an appointment letter distribution programme held at Prajna Bhavan in Agartala, the Chief Minister said a total of 20,960 candidates have secured regular government employment under the present administration. He also claimed that another 24,078 people were engaged through contractual and outsourcing arrangements.
During the programme, appointment offers were handed over to 115 newly selected candidates under the Health, Revenue and Election departments. The recruits included 27 personnel in Radiology and Imaging Technology, 39 Laboratory Technicians and 19 Optometrists under the Health department. Besides, 14 Revenue Inspectors and 16 Election Inspectors also received appointment letters.
Highlighting the government’s recruitment policy, Dr. Saha said jobs are being provided strictly on the basis of merit and eligibility, ensuring a fair and transparent selection process.
The Chief Minister also spoke about the shortage of technical manpower in several departments, particularly in the Health sector, and said the government has initiated measures to strengthen workforce capacity by filling vacant posts.
Referring to administrative reforms, he said Tripura has achieved significant success in the implementation of ‘Ease of Doing Business’ initiatives. According to him, the state secured the top position in Phase-I of Deregulation and Compliance Reduction reforms and also became the first state to complete Phase-II successfully.
Dr. Saha further said the government is giving special importance to skill development programmes in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to create employment opportunities and improve efficiency in different sectors.
Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, Additional CEO Ushajen Mog, Revenue Department Secretary Milind Ramteke and other senior officials attended the programme.
