Gurukul Agartala English Medium School, located at Madhuban in the outskirt of Agartala, celebrated its second annual day on Thursday, on the occasion of Guru Purnima.
The event served not only as a cultural showcase but also as a reflection of the school’s steady rise and its rooted values.
The celebration commenced with the traditional Ved Path, setting a contemplative tone. What followed was a colorful array of performances — dance, music, and drama — staged by students who brought energy and enthusiasm to the audience.
The day concluded with the much-anticipated annual prize distribution, acknowledging students' achievements across academics and co-curricular domains.
The programme was formally inaugurated by former Lokayukta of Tripura Kalyan Narayan Bhattacharjee. Among the guests were Dr. Srimanta Ray, Associate Professor at Kanchanpur Degree College; senior journalist Sujit Chakraborty; and Santosh Bhattacharya, editor of Maitri newspaper, along with several community members and parents.
The Gurukul Agartala School, established in 2023 by Ashish Das and Pinki Dey, has grown from a humble beginning of just six students to nearly seventy within two academic years. The growth has been fueled by a clear vision and tireless commitment to quality education. Principal Paheli Lodh has played a key role in guiding the academic direction of the school.
Reflecting on the school’s journey, Das described Gurukul as more than just an institution — a space where learning is revered.
“When the relationship between teacher and student is built on mutual respect and care, learning becomes transformative,” he said.
He added that parents have shown overwhelming support and satisfaction with the school’s curriculum, infrastructure, and the all-round development of their children. As Gurukul Agartala moves forward, it aims not just to grow in size, but to deepen its roots in values, discipline, and holistic learning.
