Agartala, Jul 28: Five books authored by former police officer Dr. Pranab Sengupta were released at a function in Agartala Press Club on Sunday evening.

Retired Chief Justice of the Odisha High Court, Subhasis Talapatra unveiled the books, published by Purnima Publishers, in presence of other dignitaries.

The newly launched books are: Anishchit Jiban (short stories), Samoyer Dinlipi (poems), Sadhinata o Ganatantra (essays), Lekhagulor Shakkhho Chilo Sangbadpatra (Part-1) and Lekhagulor Shakkhho Chilo Sangbadpatra (Part-2).

With the addition of these five new books, the author has published a total of 85 books so far.
Meanwhile, Pranab Sengupta, a retired police officer, has been awarded Ph.D recently from the SunRise University in Rajasthan.

He received the degree on the thesis ‘A Comparative Study of Communalism Constitution, Religion and Communal Politics in Modern India’.
 
During his service tenure, Sengupta served various positions of Tripura Police and retired as Inspector. He was an efficient and brave police officer having vast experience in counter insurgency operations.
 
Apart from his police role, Sengupta is also popular as a writer.
