
Agartala, Sept 10: The North East's first 3D Printing Lab in Oral Care has been developed at Agartala Government Dental College.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who inaugurated the new facility in a ceremony on Tuesday, called it a milestone in the state's dental care.
According to the Chief Minister, Science, especially in the field of dentistry, is progressing fast and the new lab is a reflection. With the use of AI, this 3D Printing Solution Centre would help reduce the load on the OPD, Dr. Saha said.
“This is a huge achievement. Surgeries, bone grafting, and various advanced procedures, including bloodless operations, are all taking place here. More than 100 patients visit this hospital daily. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated this Dental College, and it is our responsibility to maintain its reputation. Over 3,000 patients visit here monthly. I am confident the institution will continue to develop,” said Dr. Saha.
The Chief Minister also acknowledged the excellent results secured by the first batch of the AGDC in the first year.
"I was very pleased when the first batch of the Dental College passed with good results. With our excellent faculty, students are able to achieve good marks. We want Agartala Government Dental College to become a model institution in the country. Everyone should know about this college. I urge the faculty to use the latest technology,” he said.
Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, Director (Science and Technology), Ministry of DoNER- Tammu Jamoh, Director of Health Services Prof. Dr. Sanjib Debbarma, Director of Medical Education- Dr. H.P. Sharma, and other dignitaries were present.
