A recognition for Tripura Nurse Atashi Majumdar

Agartala, Nov 07: President Dourpadi Murmu on Monday presented the National Florence Nightingale Awards to Atashi Majumdar, a Nurse from Belonia in Tripura, among other Nursing professionals of the country.

The President of India presented the awards for the year 2021 at Rastrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

Majumder worked as a nurse at Belonia Sub-division Hospital for a long time. She was honoured with the Florence Nightingale Award as recognition for her valuable services to the community.

She spent 32 years as a nurse. She was honoured for her work efficiency. This achievement brought happiness to the residents of Belonia as well as every staff in the hospital and the nurses of the southern district. 

The National Florence Nightingale Awards were instituted in the year 1973 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India as a mark of recognition for the meritorious services rendered by the nurses and nursing professionals to society.
