Agartala, Sept 17: Braving difficult terrain and crossing rivulet and makeshift log bridge, health workers from Masli Primary Health Centre (PHC) reached the remote Buddhi Kumar Para in Dhalai district on Thursday to provide essential healthcare services to residents.

Carrying medicines and vaccines, the healthcare team organised a health camp and conducted an MR (Measles-Rubella) vaccination drive, ensuring that residents of the remote locality were not deprived of basic healthcare due to difficult access.

During the camp, PHC staff provided healthcare services to 22 people, while six children were successfully administered MR vaccines, according to Health department. 

As part of efforts to detect and prevent vector-borne diseases, 11 people were tested for malaria using Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) kits. All the tests returned negative results.

The health team also attended to patients suffering from other ailments. Three patients with respiratory tract infections and two patients with diarrhoea were provided with necessary medicines and medical advice.

The visit highlighted the commitment of frontline healthcare workers to taking medical services to remote and hard-to-reach communities, despite challenging terrain and access difficulties.
