Agartala airport becoming bustling hub of connectivity: AAI

Agartala, Sep 01: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) said Agartala airport, officially known as Maharaja Bir Bikram airport, is gradually turning into a bustling hub of connectivity.

The new flight operation will offer passengers an enhanced opportunity for quicker connections and more convenient access to key destinations.

The AAI’s statement came on X soon after launching of flight operations from Agartala airport by Air India Express on Sunday.

The Air India Express launched flight operations from Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, Agartala enhancing the state’s air connectivity to Delhi, Kolkata and Guwahati.

“The Airports Authority of India managed #AgartalaAirport @aaiagtairport is gradually emerging as a bustling hub of connectivity, driven by consistent growth in Passenger Statistics and the addition of #NewFlight Routes,’ the AAI mentioned in a X post. 

The MBB airport authority termed the new flight operation as a big relief to the huge chunk of passengers in need of faster links to the Capital.

“Added up the fourth Airline to our fleet. @AirIndiaX started operations from Agartala today. Direct flights to Kolkata, Guwahati & giving connection to Delhi. This comes as a big relief to the huge chunk of Pax in need of faster links to the Capital,” the official handle of MBB Airport said.

According to K.C. Meena, Director of MBB Airport, the competitive pricing of the daily flights of Air India Express would ease the passenger movement from Agartala to the national capital, Guwahati and Kolkata.

In addition to the Indigo’s lone direct flight to the national capital, the Air India express service from Agartala would serve as an alternate choice for the passengers.
