Agartala gears up for grand Jubin Nautiyal live show on Dec 12, Sourav Ganguly to attend

Agartala, Dec 10: Agartala is all set for one of its biggest entertainment events of the year as the Tourism department finalises preparations for the Jubin Nautiyal live concert, scheduled for December 12 at Swami Vivekananda Maidan.

The show will mark the closing ceremony of the Unity Promo Fest 2025, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced on Wednesday.

Speaking at a press briefing at the Geetanjali Tourism Guest House, Chowdhury confirmed that Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and Tourism Brand Ambassador Sourav Ganguly will grace the mega event. He appealed to citizens for full cooperation to ensure a smooth and disciplined programme.

To regulate the massive turnout expected, the department has introduced three categories of passes— VVIP (Orange) – Entry through Gate 1, VIP (Green) – Entry through two designated gates under Gate 2 and General (Pink)– Entry through Gate 3.

Chowdhury informed that nearly 40,000 passes have been printed, matching the venue’s maximum capacity. He urged attendees to reach the ground by 5 PM to avoid congestion, adding that “no-entry zones” will be enforced in multiple areas. Security arrangements have been strengthened accordingly.

The programme will highlight Tripura’s cultural richness with performances by local artists. Both the Chief Minister and Ganguly will address the audience during the evening.

In a significant boost for tourism promotion, 122 tour operators from across India and from Thailand, Bhutan, Myanmar and Malaysia will participate in B2B discussions as part of the festival. Chowdhury noted that Tripura currently records the second highest foreign tourist inflow in the Northeast after Sikkim.

IG (Law & Order) said all previous events under Unity Promo Fest have concluded peacefully and similar arrangements are being made for December 12.

A total of eight entry gates—one for VVIPs, two for VIPs and five for general visitors—will be installed. He urged the public to maintain discipline during entry and exit.

Tourism Director Prashant Badal Negi, SP West Namit Pathak and SP Traffic Kanta Jangir were present at the press conference.
