Agartala, Oct 09: Preparation for the upcoming ‘Maayer Gomon’ event was reviewed at a meeting chaired by Mayor Dipak Majumder on Friday. In the meeting held at the conference hall of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), various aspects of the event were discussed.

The event will be jointly organised by the AMC and the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, and preparations are now in the final stage. 

The Mayor said all necessary arrangements are being made to conduct the programme in a peaceful manner. He said there will be adequate security arrangements, including barricades in front of City Centre and additional security measures. 

The Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Kanta Jangir, said attention will be paid to preventing any untoward incident during the programme, and steps will be taken so that vehicles on emergency services can move. 

The Mayor appealed to all participating clubs and officials of the departments concerned to cooperate in holding the event smoothly. 

Bimbisar Bhattacharya, Director of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, explained the procession route in detail. 

Also present in the meeting were AMC Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta, AMC Commissioner Saju Vaheed A, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, Smart City CEO G Sharath Naik, West District Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak, Traffic SP Kanta Jangir and senior officials of various departments.
