Agartala to soon have Film Institute, SRFTI delegation meets CM

Agartala, Apr 08: If everything goes as per the plan, Agartala will soon have a branch of the prestigious Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI).
A day after visiting the proposed site in Agartala, three officials of SRFTI held a meeting with Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in presence of Minister for Information and Cultural Affairs Sushanta Chowdhury.
The SRFTI officials are- Samiran Datta, Director(I/C) of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Dr. Sushrut Sharma, Registrar, and Sudipta Bhowmik, Professor and HOD-EDM, Management.
While interacting with the Chief Minister, they held discussions on opening of the proposed branch of SRFTI in Agartala.
"The Institute will provide a platform to the budding artists of the state and they will be able to showcase their talent internationally," the Chief Minister commented on his official Facebook handle.
The SRFTI delegation along with the state ICA Minister visited the proposed site—Nazrul Kalakshetra on Wednesday.
According to the SRFTI officials, short courses on film studies would be introduced in the centre at the initial stage.
