
Agartala, Aug 19: In a celebration of art and culture, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated a unique photography exhibition themed "Akal Bodhan" at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan, Agartala, on Monday.
The exhibition, organized by the Tripura Photo Journalists' Association and sponsored by Techno India University, Tripura, to mark World Photography Day, showcased diverse range of photographs captured through the lenses of talented photo journalists from across Tripura.
The Chief Minister in his address extended greetings to the photographers and highlighted the significance of photography as a "reflection of life," expressing his admiration for their creative work.
He also paid tribute to two late photographers, Debashish Barua and Sushanta Das, by offering floral tributes at their portraits, acknowledging their contributions to the field.
Dr. Saha took a keen interest in the exhibition, touring the venue and viewing the diverse range of photographs on display.
He also explored the collection of vintage cameras, further immersing himself in the world of photography.
The event also saw presence of Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder, vice-chancellor of Techno India University, Tripura- Dr. Ratan Kumar Saha, Agartala Press Club President Jayanta Bhattacharya, secretary Ramakanta Dey, Tripura Photo Journalists' Association President Pralayjit Pal and secretary Abhishek Saha.
The exhibition featured a total of 76 photographs, capturing the essence of the "Akal Bodhan" theme.
It will remain open to the public daily from 11 am to 9 pm till August 21, 2024, offering art enthusiasts and the general public an opportunity to experience the visual narratives presented by the state’s talented photo journalists.
