Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh, Tripura holds annual general meeting

Agartala, Oct 11: The Annual General Meeting of the Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh, Tripura (Mahavidyalaya Shiksha), was organised in an atmosphere of fraternity, discipline, cultural rootedness and commitment to the cause of education toady, 11th October, 2026 at Nazrul Kalakhetra Auditorium.

The programme commenced with Saraswati Vandana, followed by Pushpanjali at the portrait of Maa Saraswati, invoking the spirit of knowledge, duty and service.

The opening ceremony set the tone for the deliberations that followed, with teachers and members reflecting upon their responsibilities towards education, society and the nation.
Debasish Roy Chowdhury, General Secretary, ABRSM, Tripura Prant welcomed the dignitaries, teachers and members present at the Annual General Meeting.

He presented the Annual General Report for the year 2025-26, giving an overview of the organisation's activities and progress. He expressed his gratitude to all the members and participants for their cooperation, participation and continued commitment to the organisation.

Tapanjyoti Malakar, Treasurer, ABRSM Tripura presented the accounts statement for the year 2025-26. He discussed in detail the membership contribution (collection and expenditure), which was accepted by all the members.

Prof. Narayan Lal Gupta, National President, ABRSM, and the Special Guest of the programmme emphasised in his address that the teaching community should remain united in addressing the larger challenges of Rashtra Nirman. He delivered a motivational and inspiring speech on Guru Parampara and emphasised on the motto “Rashtra Ke Hit Me Siksha, Siksha Ke Hit Me Sikshak and Sikshak Ke Hit Me Samaj”. 

He observed that the very name Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh reflects the responsibility of teachers in nation-building. He also highlighted the organisation's wide reach, with more than 15 lakh teachers associated with the ABRSM across the country.

Nikhil Shankar Niwaskar, Prant Pracharak, Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh, Tripura Prant cum Chief Guest of the programme spoke about the rapidly changing global and national scenario and the need for Bharat to confidently recognise its own strengths.

He urged teachers to rise above narrow self-interest and contribute collectively towards making Bharat Vishwaguru. He highlighted India's rich heritage, culture, knowledge, talent and traditional wisdom. He invoked teachers to become active contributors to the society and respond positively to contemporary challenges.

Tirtharam Reang, President, ABRSM, Tripura, delivered presidential address and highlighted the activities of the organisation in Tripura and its efforts to safeguard the legitimate financial and service-related interests of teachers.

He expressed gratitude to the Government of Tripura for the enhancement of Dearness Allowance and House Rent Allowance and other benefits. He highlighted the organisation's continued efforts for the betterment of the teaching community and education in Tripura.

The second session of the Annual General Meeting was graced by the presence of Prof. Narayan Lal Gupta, National President, ABRSM, along with Debasish Roy Chowdhury, Tirtharam Reang and Sri Dhirendra Debnath. Prof. Narayan Lal Gupta delivered the Bouddhik, focusing on the vision of Viksit Bharat, the Sankalp of making Bharat Vishwaguru, the importance of Kartavya in Bharatiya Parampara, and the need to regain confidence in Bharatiya culture, heritage and knowledge systems.

Debasish Roy Chowdhury presented the 27 Point Charter of Demands having, containing the key concerns and expectations of the teaching community.

Prof Narayan Lal Gupta, National President, ABRSM delivered his speech as a Boudhik-Data,  focusing on New Education Policy and its relevance in making Bharat induced with human values.

He emphasised on the significance of National Anthem and National Song. 
He highlighted the relevance of “Vande Mataram,” and the vision of Viksit Bharat, while encouraging teachers to embrace AI and interdisciplinary learning, strengthen their knowledge and research, promote unity in diversity, and uphold respect for all religions, castes, colours, and languages.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Mousham Bhattacharjee, Associate Professor, Ramthakur College, followed by the National Song.
