ALOHA Northeast students triumph at Int'l Mental Arithmetic Competition in Cambodia

ALOHA Abacus & Mental Arithmetic, Northeast Regional, announced a momentous achievement-- six brilliant students from Tripura have represented both Tripura and Northeast India at the prestigious ALOHA International Mental Arithmetic Competition, held on 20th July 2025 at the PH Grand Hall, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The champions of Tripura among hundreds of global participants delivered outstanding performances-- Seanan Debbarma of Holy Cross School emerged as Grand Champion, Bizu Chakma from Don Bosco School became Grand Champion, Sristica Chowdhury from Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Vidya Mandir finished as the 1st Runner-Up, Chayanika Debnath from St. Joseph School, Gokulnagar secured the 2nd Runner-Up position, Sokat Gurung from Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Vidya Mandir emerged as 3rd Runner-Up and Nonda Chakma of Auxilium Girls' School finished the competition as 3rd Runner-Up.

According to a press release, these victories not only reflect academic excellence but also the spirit and determination of Tripura’s youth.

The Tripura delegation was graciously hosted by Vanlalvawna Bawitlung, India’s Ambassador to Cambodia. The reception celebrated the students’ achievements and honored the rich cultural heritage of Northeast India, reinforcing Tripura’s growing legacy on the international stage.

Previously, Tripura has proudly represented India in various international competitions across Bangladesh & Malaysia (2017), Bangladesh & Russia (2018), Bangladesh & China (2019), Bangladesh (2020) and Malaysia (2023).

This consistent global presence underscores ALOHA Northeast’s pioneering role in nurturing world-class talent.
