The programme was presided over by Central Zone Chairperson Ratna Dutta.

The safety camp focused on the protection, health and welfare of the Safai Mitras, who work daily to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across Agartala.

The initiative seeks to ensure better workplace safety, necessary support and access to welfare-oriented services for sanitation workers.

At the same time, vehicles were distributed to the Task Force to make its activities more systematic and responsive. The move is expected to strengthen field-level cleanliness and civic management operations in the Central Zone.

The AMC said the initiatives are aimed at safeguarding the safety, dignity and well-being of Safai Mitras while creating a more secure and supportive working environment for them.

The programmes also underline the civic body's focus on improving the overall cleanliness management system of the city.

“Clean Agartala, Healthy Agartala” remains the broader objective behind the initiatives, with the AMC reiterating its commitment to standing by the sanitation workers who play a crucial role in keeping the city clean.
