A successful livestock insurance drive was conducted at Shangkumabari VC under the initiative of PIU ARDD and BPMU Jampuijala TRESP, with active support from POS and Pashusakhi Didis along with ARDD and TRESP field staff.
Despite heavy rainfall causing a slight delay in the beginning of the program, the dedicated team members carried out the activities with remarkable commitment and coordination. To ensure smooth implementation, the field team was divided into two groups and covered multiple Producer Groups efficiently.
During the drive, insurance coverage was successfully provided to 44 piglets belonging to three Producer Groups — Palbaksa PG, Naithok PG, and Naikalnai PG. The initiative aims to provide financial security to rural piggery farmers and reduce risks associated with livestock rearing.
Alongside the insurance activities, BPMU Jampuijala also continued its animal vaccination support in collaboration with PIU–Animal Resource Development Department. The combined focus on livestock protection, disease prevention, and improved survival rates is expected to strengthen sustainable income generation through piggery-based livelihood activities under TRESP.
The program highlighted the important grassroots role played by POS and Pashusakhi Didis in reaching farmers directly and ensuring community participation. Their dedication and hard work contributed significantly to the success of the drive.
Such initiatives reflect the continued commitment of TRESP and ARDD towards improving rural livelihoods, promoting resilient livestock farming, and empowering Producer Groups through integrated support services.
