Army engages veterans in Agartala outreach

Agartala, 08 July 2026: The Indian Army organised a Veterans' Meet at Agartala Military Station on 08 July 2026, bringing together over 50 ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, Next of Kin (NoKs), veterans' welfare officials and representatives from military establishments. Chaired by the General Officer Commanding, 101 Area, the interaction aimed to address welfare-related issues through direct engagement with the veteran community and facilitate timely resolution of their concerns.
The meet provided a platform for veterans to interact with Army authorities and discuss matters pertaining to healthcare, employment and welfare. Special emphasis was laid on improving healthcare delivery through ECHS, enhancing employment opportunities in the State Government and creating greater awareness on guidance available for Agniveer recruitment.
Addressing the gathering, the General Officer Commanding reaffirmed the Indian Army's enduring commitment towards the welfare of ex-servicemen, disabled soldiers, Veer Naris and their families. He assured the veterans that their concerns would receive due attention and encouraged them to remain connected with the Army while actively availing the various welfare initiatives.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening the bond between the Indian Army and its veterans, reflecting the organisation's continued dedication towards ensuring their welfare, dignity and well-being.
