Assam govt gives Rs 5 cr for Tripura flood relief, CM thanks

Agartala, Sept 01: Extending its helping hand to flood-hit Tripura, neighbouring state Assam gave Rs. 5 crore for providing relief to the affected people.
Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma sanctioned the fund and Assam's Minister of Tourism Jayanta Malla Barua presented it to the Tripura Chief Minister through a cheque in Agartala on Sunday.
Dr. Saha expressed his gratitude to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the people of the neighbouring state for standing in solidarity with the flood victims in Tripura.
On X, Dr. Saha wrote, "My sincere thanks and gratitude to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the Government of Assam for coming forward to help the flood victims."
Dr. Saha further mentioned that at his official residence, Assam's Minister of Tourism Jayanta Malla Barua, on behalf of the Government of Assam, donated Rs 5 crore to aid the flood victims.
"I am also very thankful to Shri Jayanta Malla Barua," added Dr. Saha.
