Agartala, Sept 07: Assam Rifles conducted a Weapon and Equipment Display followed by a Motivational-cum-Awareness lecture for cadets of 13 NCC Battalion at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel, Agartala, Tripura on 07 September 2026, as part of its continued efforts towards youth engagement and creating awareness about the Armed Forces.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation by more than 500 NCC cadets. The Weapon and Equipment Display provided the cadets with an opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge about various weapons, equipment and specialised systems employed by Assam Rifles.
The cadets actively interacted with the personnel and displayed keen interest in understanding the capabilities and operational significance of the systems, gaining a deeper insight into the role and preparedness of the force.
Motivational-cum-Awareness Lecture was delivered by Lt Col Abhilasha Uniyal, who herself was an NCC cadet prior to joining Indian Army and Riflewoman Kanchan. They shared their personal experiences of life in uniform and spoke about the challenges, responsibilities and opportunities associated with a career in the Defence Forces.
A particularly inspiring aspect of the interaction was Lt Col Abhilasha Uniyal's own journey.
Having started as an NCC cadet herself, she later joined the Indian Army through the NCC Special Entry Scheme. Her journey helped the cadets relate their present NCC experience to the possibilities that may lie ahead and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunities and exposure provided through NCC.
The speakers interacted candidly with the cadets and encouraged them to move beyond conventional career choices and approach new opportunities with confidence, discipline and determination.
The interaction was particularly meaningful for the young women cadets, who gained a first-hand perspective from women serving in uniform about the experiences, opportunities and challenges associated with such a career.
