Assam Rifles cracks down on ganja trade in Tripura

Agartala, Feb 12: In a significant blow to narcotics smuggling, Assam Rifles seized and destroyed a massive consignment of ganja worth ₹4.85 crore during an anti-drug operation in Manikyanagar, West Tripura district on Wednesday morning.
During the operation, security forces confiscated 351 kg of ganja valued at ₹1.58 crore, while an additional 1,089 kg, worth ₹3.27 crore, was destroyed on-site.
The crackdown was carried out in close coordination with the Agartala Customs Division, highlighting the Assam Rifles' ongoing commitment to combat drug trafficking in the Northeast.
According to an official statement, the Assam Rifles remains vigilant in safeguarding national security by dismantling illegal smuggling networks operating along the border regions.
