In continuation of the commemorative events marking 150 years of Vande Mataram, Assam Rifles organised a Freedom Run at Radhanagar on 09 August 2026, bringing together Assam Rifles personnel and members of the local community in a celebration of patriotism, national unity and collective pride.

The event commenced with an insightful talk on the origin, historical significance and enduring legacy of Vande Mataram, highlighting its profound role in inspiring the freedom movement and its continued relevance as an enduring symbol of patriotism and national consciousness.

The talk was followed by a spirited 5 km freedom run, with participants carrying the National Flag and traversing the designated route with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. 

The event witnessed active participation by the local populace, reflecting a strong sense of camaraderie and shared national identity.

The Freedom Run served as a meaningful platform to celebrate the timeless spirit embodied by Vande Mataram, while promoting physical fitness, national pride and community participation.

The initiative further strengthened the enduring bond between Assam Rifles and the people of the region, reaffirming the Force’s commitment towards fostering unity, patriotism and the spirit of Nation First.
