Assam Rifles seizes Yaba tablets worth Rs. 14.4 cr in Tripura

Agartala, Sept 20: In continuation of a series of successful operations in the war against drugs, Assam Rifles in a joint operation with the Tripura Police seized 50,000 Yaba tablets from Teliemura in Tripura on Thursday.

The seized narcotics worth Rs 14.4 crore were recovered from Telimura and one individual was detained along with seizure of one vehicle.

In a statement, Assam Rifles stated that following a tip-off, Assam Rifles swiftly launched the operation, which culminated in the seizure of the contraband and the subsequent handover of the apprehended individual and the vehicle to the Police Department for further investigation and legal proceedings. 

The recovered Yaba tablets are valued at approximately Rs 14.4 crore in international market. This operation highlights the unwavering commitment of Assam Rifles in the fight against drug trafficking and illegal smuggling activities in the region.
