Assam Rifles Seizes ₹1 Crore Worth of Smuggled Foreign Cigarettes in Tripura

Agartala, Jan 15: In a significant breakthrough against smuggling, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau (SIB), seized a consignment of 100 cartons of imported foreign cigarettes valued at ₹1 crore in the international market.
The operation took place in Champaknagar under West Tripura District.
Two individuals involved in the smuggling activity were apprehended during the operation. The contraband items, along with the accused, have been handed over to the Customs Department for further investigation and legal proceedings.
This operation underscores Assam Rifles' unwavering commitment to curbing smuggling and illegal activities in the region.
