Ayushman Bharat: Tripura holds 4th position in country, card issued to 12.59 lakh people

Agartala, Sept 23: Tripura is presently holding the fourth position in the country in terms of Ayushman Bharat implementation.

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb shared this update on his official Facebook handle on the occasion of three years completion of Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

Along with other parts of the country, the government has launched Ayushman Bharat Scheme in the state to provide accessible and affordable healthcare to poor people.

According to an official report, over 12.50 lakh beneficiaries in Tripura have already been provided Ayushman Bharat cards.

The healthcare scheme, as per the report, is targeting around 4.90 lakh families, covering around 14 lakh beneficiaries in the state.

There are 13,93,583 target beneficiaries in the state. Among them, 12,59,292 beneficiaries have already been issued the Ayushman Cards, covering 93.95 percent of the target, the report said.

In Tripura, total 126 hospitals—124 public and 2 private—have so far been empanelled where 1,03,931 admission cases have been recorded till August 31, 2021. An amount of Rs. 49.08 crore has been settled as claim amount for hospital admissions. Besides, Tripura recorded 487 portability cases under the scheme so far and the claim amount settled for this purpose is Rs. 1.33 crore.

Under the scheme, medical coverage up to Rs. 5 lakh is provided to per family per year, for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization through a network of Empanelled Health Care Providers (EHCP).

A awareness drive is going on from September 15 last with a purpose to reach the last mile beneficiary of the scheme so that no one is deprived of the benefits. The awareness programmes will continue till September 30.
