Agartala, Aug 09: Amid strong speculations over a possible reshuffle in Tripura BJP’s president post, former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb met party chief J.P. Nadda in New Delhi on Tuesday.
As Deb tweeted, he briefed the party president about current political situation in Tripura as well as organizational activities.
According to party sources, the state BJP is all set to get a new president with barely six months left for the state elections.
While many of the BJP karyakartas are expecting Deb as the next president, a small group is speculating that Kishore Barman is likely to get the charge. However, the central leaderships, according to party insiders, are yet to finalize the next state president.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha is currently holding the charge of BJP state president. But, he has to relinquish the party position since it would not be possible for him to run the administration as well as party at the same time, that too in an election year.
Meanwhile, party sources also said the BJP national president J.P. Nadda is likely to visit Tripura in the last week of August but his tour programme is yet to be finalized.
