Bir Bikram Ekta Camp of NSS concludes in Agartala

Agartala, Oct 11: The Bir Bikram Ekta Camp–2026 (Special National Integration Camp–I), organised by the 13 Tripura Battalion of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) under the aegis of the Directorate General of NCC, Ministry of Defence, Government of India, concluded today with a grand closing ceremony at the Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT), Narsinghar, Agartala. 

The camp, being held from October 1 to 12, 2026, at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel (SBSYH), Agartala, brought together 400 NCC cadets from different states and regions across India. 

The closing ceremony was attended by Kishor Barman, Minister of Higher Education, Government of Tripura, as the Chief Guest, and Brigadier Anand Raj Singh, Silchar Group Commander, as the Guest of Honour. 

Other dignitaries included Animash Debbarma of the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Tripura; Colonel N. S. Baath, Commanding Officer of the 13 Tripura Battalion NCC; Vikas Malik, Administrative Officer of the battalion; the Officer-in-Charge of 71 Company; and the Principal of TIT, Narsinghar. 

Addressing the gathering, the minister said that it was the first camp of its kind to be organised at the national level by the NCC in Tripura. He described it as a proud moment for the state and said the camp had brought together 400 cadets from different parts of the country. 

The minister appreciated the efforts of the organising battalion, camp staff and participating cadets in making the camp successful. He highlighted the important role of NCC training in developing discipline, leadership, teamwork, patriotism and a sense of responsibility among young people. 

He also encouraged the cadets to uphold the spirit of national integration and contribute to the progress and development of the country. 

The programme featured vibrant cultural performances by the participating teams, showcasing India's rich diversity through traditional music, dance, customs and cultural practices.

 The performances highlighted the message of “Unity in Diversity” and emphasised the importance of mutual respect, national harmony and cultural understanding among young people. 

Prizes of the National Integration Awareness Programme (NIAP) competition were also distributed at the closing ceremony. First position was taken by the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh team, 2nd Position went to Gujarat and 3rd Position went to Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
