Agartala, Aug 25: Rajib Bhattacharjee, a hardcore BJP Karyakarta and also a RSS man, has been appointed as the new president of Tripura BJP unit on Thursday.

The formal announcement regarding Bhattacharjee’s appointment as the state president visibly injected additional energy among the party men at all levels in view of the 2023 assembly polls.

The BJP leader, who joined RSS in 1988, replaced Dr. Manik Saha as the state president. Dr. Saha now the Chief Minister of Tripura.

Before being assigned in the new role, Bhattacharjee, who is close to former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, held various posts including Mandal president (Banamalipur), Sadar district general secretary, treasures in Pradesh BJP, state general secretary and vice-president of Tripura BJP.

He is also the chairman of Tripura Khadi Board and president of Vivekananda Vichar Mancha. 

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar, Union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik, MP Rebati Tripura along with many others congratulated Bhattacharjee for being appointed in the new role.
 
“Congratulations to Shri Rajib Bhattacharjee Ji on being appointed as the president of BJP Tripura. I believe under the guidance of PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji & BJP President Shri J.P.Nadda Ji, newly appointed President Shri Rajib Bhattacharjee will work hard to strengthen BJP4Tripura,” Deb wrote.
 
The party leaders and workers at various levels welcomed the decision and opined that under Bhattacharjee’s leadership the organization would reach a new height.
 
He has been assigned the charge at a crucial time as the state would go to assembly polls in around six months.
 
Bhattacharjee expressed gratitude to the party’s central leadership for keeping faith in him and said that he would function in the new role with full devotion for the best interest of the party.
