BJP central team meets Karyakartas displaced by TMC's post-poll violence in Bengal

Agartala, June 16: A central team from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday met the Karyakartas displaced by TMC's alleged post-poll violence in Bengal.

Led by Tripura MP Biplab Kumar Deb, thr team, constituted by BJP chief Jagat Prakash Nadda, assessed the current situation in Bengal and interacted with BJP supporters who have been displaced from their homes due to the violence following the Lok Sabha elections.

Deb expressed solidarity with all party members and their families, as well as the public, who have fallen victim to what he described as large-scale violence orchestrated by the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC after the Lok Sabha polls.

"There is no place for political violence in Indian democracy. Under Mamata Banerjee's leadership, who rose to power in West Bengal on the promise of 'Maa, Mati, Manush,' both democracy and Bengali culture are being tarnished," Deb commented.

He further stated, "The BJP will not tolerate this anarchy and will respond appropriately through democratic process. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we will continue to work for the welfare of the people of Bengal."

In a statement to the media, Deb highlighted that since the BJP came to power in Tripura in 2018, no political murders have been reported. He contrasted this with the previous communist regime, under which he claimed the people of Tripura experienced frequent political murders.
