BJP-IPFT govt gives 24,033 jobs in Tripura so far: ICA Minister

Agartala, Dec 29: The number of jobs given by the BJP-IPFT government in its tenure is almost double than the jobs given during the last five years of Left Front government, a minister claimed on Friday.

Only 13,657 jobs were given in Left Front's last five years from 2013 to 2017 while 24,033 jobs were given by the BJP-IPFT government since 2018, said Minister for Information and Cultural Affairs Sushanta Chowdhury. He also gave break-up of department wise jobs.

Addressing a press conference at the civil secretariat, Chowdhury said, "As per the data provided by the Finance department, concurrence has been given for total 41,949 jobs till December 16, 2022 and the state government already provided 24,033 jobs."

The figure of jobs provided by the BJP-IPFT government included 17,686 Regular/ Fixed Pay jobs, 8103 contractual jobs, 1329 die-in-harness jobs and 5879 outsourcing jobs, he said.

According to the ICA minister, more jobs are in the pipeline-- the process for recruitment of 6000 Special Executives, 5000 JRBT aspirants, 3000 TET teachers and 1000 Police Constables in Home department is underway.

Speaking to the media, Chowdhury also hinted that the state government may come up with some new announcements ahead of the assembly elections.
