Agartala, Sept 20: The BJP and its alliance partner Tipra Motha are working on a coordinated grassroots campaign ahead of the upcoming Village Committee elections, with the focus on strengthening local-level engagement and responding jointly to election-related challenges.

The alliance partners held their third round of discussions on Sunday at the State Guest House, with Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath leading the meeting. The talks centred on campaign coordination, voter outreach and the need for greater cooperation between the two parties during the electoral process.

Nath later told reporters that a uniform campaign formula would not be adopted across all areas. Instead, the alliance would assess the local situation before deciding where joint campaigning would be required.

Direct contact with voters is being given particular importance, he said, with house-to-house visits, courtyard meetings, market-centred programmes and small public gatherings identified as key components of the campaign at the grassroots level.

The minister said Sunday's meeting was held at the state level to assess the scope for coordinated activities and establish mechanisms for dealing with issues that could emerge during the campaign. The discussions also sought to ensure closer coordination between the alliance partners in different areas.

Nath said the issues raised during the meeting would be communicated to Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, BJP state president Abhishek Debroy and Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha.

The meeting comes as the alliance intensifies preparations for the Village Committee elections, with greater emphasis being placed on constituency-level coordination and direct engagement with voters.
