Agartala, Mar 23: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday hinted that Bharatiya Janata Party will contest the ensuing ADC polls alone.
He also said a tentative candidate list has been sent to Delhi for approval.
“We have prepared a tentative list of candidates for all 28 seats and it will be sent to Delhi. After receiving approval, it will be released on Tuesday morning,” the Chief Minister said.
He was speaking to the reporters after an all-important meeting with the party’s core committee, senior leaders, Janajati leaders and others.
Replying to a query on alliance with Tipra Motha, the Chief Minister said, every political party has own expectations. They are in the ministry as we as our alliance. But, in ADC, we have no alliance. We are now looking forward to healthy contest.
Responding to another media query, he said, “we are in talks with IPFT and a decision will be taken later on. As of now, we have taken a decision and selected candidates for 28 seats.”
Mwanwhile, the BJP's decision to contest the TTAADC elections without forging an alliance with Tipra Motha reportedly brought a wave of happiness and satisfaction among the senior Janajati leaders of the party.
