BSF destroys 11,000 ganja plants in Tripura

Agartala, July 17: In a joint operation, the Border security Force in collaboration with Tripura Police and Forest Guards destroyed ganja plants in large numbers at Laltilla under Jatrapur police limit on Wednesday.
The BSF had specific information that one villager of Laltilla was growing ganja plant nursery at the back side of his house. The BSF then planned the joint operation along with Forest Guards and local police.
During the operation, more than 11,000 ganja saplings were uprooted. Suitable legal action is being taken by the concerned department against land owner.
The Tripura unit of BSF in a press note said the force is committed to deal with the menace of ganja and narcotics items in the bordering areas of the state.
