BSF thwarts illegal border crossings, detains four in Tripura

Agartala, July 16: The Border Security Force (BSF) thwarted the attempts of crossing Indo-Bangladesh border and detained four persons including two Bangladeshi nationals in Tripura on Tuesday.
Acting on specific inputs, a special patrolling party from the Nischintpur Border Outpost (BOP) apprehended Atiqur Rahman (48) from Kazipara, Brahmanbaria district, Bangladesh, and Arabinda Das (45) from Anandapur, Karimganj, Assam. The duo was caught while attempting to cross the border from India into Bangladesh in the Nischintpur area.
In a concurrent operation, the BSF Anti Human Trafficking Unit, in collaboration with the Government Railway Police (GRP), detained another Bangladeshi national, Rinku Chandra Das (18) from Chittagong district, and Royal Das (27) from Bardhaman district, West Bengal. The apprehension occurred in Agartala, underscoring the coordinated efforts of multiple security agencies.
The BSF has intensified its operations against illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, with all field formations actively dismantling the networks of touts operating in the border regions. The detained individuals are currently being questioned as part of ongoing investigations.
These successful operations highlight the BSF's unwavering commitment to securing the borders and maintaining peace and order. The proactive measures and heightened vigilance of the security forces continue to play a crucial role in curbing illegal activities and safeguarding national security.
