Central team visits Tripura, finds health programmes satisfactory

Agartala, Nov 18: A central team that visited Tripura over the past seven days has found the health programmes satisfactory.
After taking a thorough review, has also prescribed some suggestions for further improvement, according to official sources.
The 14th Common Review Mission (CRM) team led by major general (prof) Dr. Atul Kotwal, executive director of National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), inspected the Healthcare facilities in West Tripura, Khowai and North Tripura districts to assess the status of various health programmes. The central also had community-level interactions in various places.
Dr. Kotwal, according to official sources, has put some suggestions to improve the healthcare services further. In various hospitals, health centres and sub-health centres, the central team laid special emphasis on the ‘Mayer Ghar’ project and ambulance service.
The expert team has recommended timely and adequate supply of drugs through the state's supply chain and raising more awareness to improve public facility utilization complemented with streamlined logistics.
The state de-briefing of the Common Review Mission team was held at the state guest house on Wednesday last, where the principal secretary (health) along with director of health and family welfare- Dr. Radha Debbarma, NHM Tripura mission director- Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal and other officials were present.
