Agartala, Oct 22: In a bid to give more access to dental education, Centre has given approval for increasing the number of BDS seats in Agartala Government Dental College.

The seat count will now rise from 50 to 63, starting from the academic session of 2025-26.

The Agartala Government Dental College is a dream project implemented by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. 

While sharing the update on social media, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda for facilitating the approval.

The seat enhancement is expected to provide more opportunities for aspiring dental professionals in the region and improve access to dental education.

The Chief Minister commented, “This will largely help in fulfilling the dream of the state's students, who are aspiring to take admission in Dental College.”
