Centre dedicated to holistic development of NE, AYUSH MoS says in Tripura

Agartala, July 11: Union Minister of State for AYUSH (independent charge), Prataprao Ganpatrao Yadav, visited the Integrated AYUSH Hospital at Kailashahar on Thursday.
During his visit, he reviewed the infrastructure and services provided at the hospital, with a particular focus on Panchakarma therapy and yoga. Following the visit, the Union Minister chaired a review meeting at the Unakoti Kalakshetra, discussing the activities and operations of the health department and AYUSH healthcare systems.
In the meeting, the Union Minister emphasized that the current central government is dedicated to the comprehensive development of Northeast India, alongside the country's economic and social progress. He called upon everyone to fulfill their responsibilities in building a developed India, ensuring holistic growth that includes education and healthcare.
The Union Minster arrived in the state on Wednesday for a two-day visit. During his inspection of the Integrated AYUSH Hospital in Kailashahar, he engaged in discussions with officials and healthcare workers about various aspects of the health services provided.
Dr. Anjan Das, Director of Family Welfare and Preventive Medicine, Dr. Souvik Debbarma, Joint Director of the Health Department, and Dr. Nupur Debbarma, member secretary of NHM, Tripura unit.
Additionally, the Union Minister visited the Machmara Primary Health Center in Unakoti district. This health center has received the National Quality Assurance Certification from the central government. He also inspected the various service units of the health center, including the inpatient and outpatient departments, and familiarized himself with the services and infrastructure.
He interacted with doctors, healthcare workers, patients, and their families. The minister also planted a sapling of Arjuna tree in the center’s herbal garden and presented a fruit basket to a tuberculosis patient, along with zinc tablets and ORS packets to two children.
During the day, the AYUSH Minister also visited a village office, a local Anganwadi center, and the Kinacharan Talukdar Para School at Machmara. He noted that his visit is part of a bi-monthly outreach program where central ministers tour the north-eastern states. He stated that he will submit a report to the Prime Minister's Office upon the conclusion of his visit. (with inputs from PIB)
