In a major step towards rural prosperity and women empowerment, the Tripura government on Saturday launched two important initiatives- Chief Minister's ‘Nabadisha Abhiyan’ and 80 Integrated Farming Clusters for women-run SHGs under the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM).
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha launched both the initiatives during Sampoornata Abhiyan Samman Samaroh at Pragya Bhavan, Agartala in the presence of Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Rural Development secretary Abhishek Singh and Chief Executive Officer of TRLM Tarit Kanti Chakma and other officials.
One of the key highlights of the event was ‘Aakanksha Haat’ that showcased vibrant collection of handmade products by SHG Didis – from delicious local delicacies to eco-friendly crafts.
The 80 Integrated Farming Clusters for Women SHGs were launched with an allocated fund of Rs. 32 crore, marking a transformative step under the Chief Minister’s vision for women-led sustainable agriculture and livelihood promotion.
Under the ‘Chief Minister's Nabadisha Abhiyan’, an amount of Rs. 50 crore has been allocated with an aim to boost rural development, promote livelihoods, and empower women SHG members across the state. The officials called it a significant step towards building Atmanirbhar Tripura.
Addressing the programme, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said, the present government has given special importance to providing proper facilities to citizens from all sections and has been working towards the socio-economic development, qualitative uplift, and transformation of the people living in the backward block areas of the state.
At the event, Dr. Saha said that the Sampoornata Abhiyan Samman Samaroh aims to ensure that there is no incompleteness anywhere.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi always says that 100% saturation should be achieved. The state government is also working in that direction. Emphasis should be placed on 100% implementation of various projects,” he said.
He said, so far, 4.84 lakh women have been associated with 53,951 self-help groups in the State under TRLM.
The Chief Minister said that a project called TRIPTI has been launched to uplift about 4,000 poor families under the Ganganagar block of Dhalai district and the Dashda block under North Tripura district.
“Along with this, the Mukhyamantri Nabadisha campaign has been launched for the upliftment of about 10,000 families in around 16 blocks of the state,” Dr. Saha said.
Dr. Saha stated that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, 112 aspirational districts and 500 aspirational blocks across the country have been identified under the Sampoornata Abhiyan, with six key indicators set.
Secretary of the Planning Department L.T. Darlong, Additional RD Secretary Kuntal Das among others were also present.
