Chief Secretary reviews preparations for Destination Tripura Business Conclave-2026

Agartala, June 17: The 'Destination Tripura Business Conclave-2026' will be held in the state on July 9 and 10. In this connection, a preparatory meeting was held on Wednesday at the Conference Hall of the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha.

The meeting discussed in detail the preparations of various departments, strategies for attracting investment, ensuring participation of guests and investors, and the overall management of the conclave.

At the beginning of the meeting, Secretary of the Industries and Commerce Department Kiran Gitte presented a detailed illustrated report covering the preparations for the conclave, the trend of investment growth in the state over the past few years, roadshows organized in various cities across the country, potential investment proposals, international diplomatic contacts, and the responsibilities and action plans of various departments. 

He informed that the Destination Tripura Business Conclave-2026 has placed special emphasis on several promising sectors including health, tourism, education, information technology, renewable energy, real estate, agro-processing, logistics, and manufacturing industries. 

The primary objectives of the conclave are to showcase Tripura's potential as an investment-friendly destination at the national and international level, facilitate new investment, and bring stakeholders from various sectors onto a common platform.

At the meeting, Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha said that organizing the Destination Tripura Business Conclave-2026 is a matter of immense pride for the state. This event reflects Tripura's positive economic policies, development-oriented outlook, and investment-friendly environment. 

He said that the Chief Economic Advisor of the country is expected to remain present at this conclave, which is an extremely significant development for the state. This will create an opportunity to showcase Tripura's potential more widely at the national level.

The Chief Secretary further said that Tripura holds tremendous potential for industry and commerce in the coming days. Tripura has now become one of the leading states in the country in terms of ease of doing business and investment-friendly reforms. In particular, Tripura's initiatives in deregulation of compliance and implementation of business reforms have been widely appreciated across the country. 

He noted that the state has virtually become a model in building an investment-friendly administrative system. 

He said that investors from various parts of the country are currently showing interest in investing in Tripura in sectors including tourism, health, education, information technology, renewable energy, and agro-processing. This is a reflection of the state's growing economic progress and investment-friendly environment.

The Chief Secretary called upon all departments, agencies, and concerned stakeholders to work in a coordinated manner. 

He urged everyone to work together to make the Destination Tripura Business Conclave-2026 a success and to establish Tripura as an exemplary investment destination before the country.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. P. K. Chakraborty, along with Secretaries and Directors of various departments, the District Magistrate of West Tripura District, and senior officials.
