Cong-CPM alliance, Tipra Motha’s rise failed before Manik Saha’s clean image

Agartala, Mar 2: The 2023 assembly election was a tough battle for Bharatiya Janata Party but Dr. Manik Saha’s clean image managed the situation well that too in 10 months and helped the party retain power in the state with an absolute majority.

First Tipra Motha’s rise in tribal belts and then CPM-Congress’ alliance—these were the two key factors before BJP in the assembly polls this time. This was for the first time that Tripura witnessed such a free, fair and violence-free election.

The party’s position was not well following which the central leadership had to remove Biplab Kumar Deb as Chief Minister barely 10 months before the elections. It was then Dr. Manik Saha who under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president J.P. Nadda had to manage it all.

It is quite a difficult task for anybody to fight and win an assembly election of any state after taking the charge of the Chief Minister only 10 months before the battle. But, Dr. Manik Saha made the difference.

While the central leadership’s decision to remove Deb appeared to be right choice at the right time, Dr. Saha’s clean image also worked well in ensuring the BJP’s victory in the face of Tipra Motha’s rise and Congress-CPM alliance.

After forming the alliance, the CPM-Congress sought to create an anti-BJP narrative to impress the people but the efforts drastically failed before Dr. Saha's magic. The people straightway rejected the alliance and kept their faith in BJP's development model.

He first bridged the gap between the leaders and their difference of opinions within the party while delivery of good governance has always been his top priority since the beginning. He has also put an end to the menace of ‘Bike Bahini’. He talked less and worked hard in silence, without wasting time, to gift lotus from Tripura to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Under the rule of BJP, Tripura has set an example of free, fair and violence-free election and Dr. Saha has led this journey.

This was, indeed, for the first time that the opposition parties didn’t get any chance to raise fingers on the ruling party for booth jamming, rigging and intimidation of voters. The Election Commission also maintained strong security measures with the goal to ensure a violence-free election.

His simple lifestyle and people-oriented decisions seemingly impressed the voters and the results are now known to all.
As the people gave their mandate in favour of BJP, Dr. Saha is set to become the Chief Minister and lead the state for continued progress and development for the next five years.
