CRPF initiative provides basic computer training to 37 students from underprivileged families

Agartala, Oct 01: As part of the Civic Action Programme 2026–27, 124 Battalion CRPF has launched a special computer training programme for students from economically disadvantaged families. The programme is being organised in collaboration with The Computer Point, with a total of 37 students being provided special computer training.

The primary objective of the initiative is to enhance the technological skills of students from financially weaker sections and help prepare them for higher education and future career opportunities. Students from Classes X and XII have been included in the programme. Along with basic computer education, the students will receive practical training and necessary guidance to improve their digital skills.

Speaking on the occasion, Shachidanand Mishra, Second-in-Command, 124 Battalion CRPF, said that CRPF has been working for a long time to maintain peace and security in Tripura. Alongside its regular duties, the force also gives importance to its social responsibilities through various community-oriented initiatives.

He said that CRPF has undertaken several social welfare programmes from time to time, including distribution of educational materials to school students, providing sports gear and equipment to children, and organising health camps. As part of these continued efforts, a basic computer course has now been launched to promote skill development among students.

According to the Second-in-Command, a total of 37 students from Classes X and XII have been selected for the programme. The training will provide them with hands-on knowledge of basic computer operations and help them understand the importance and application of technology in their education and future careers.

Meanwhile, Dhananjay Bhattacharjee, Proprietor of The Computer Point, said that the institution has been working for a long time to improve computer literacy and technological skills among students. In the present era, computer knowledge has become an important part of education and professional development.

He said that students from economically disadvantaged families often face difficulties in accessing adequate technological learning opportunities. Keeping this in mind, The Computer Point has joined hands with CRPF in this initiative to provide such students with an opportunity to develop their computer skills.

He further expressed hope that the programme would help students from underprivileged families improve their digital knowledge and develop skills that could benefit them in higher education as well as in their future professional careers.

The joint initiative of 124 Battalion CRPF and The Computer Point has generated enthusiasm among the participating students. The organisers expressed hope that the 37 students will benefit from the training and become better prepared for their future educational and professional journeys.

The organisers also stated that similar initiatives aimed at supporting education, skill development and community welfare would continue in the future.
