Dr. Manik Saha-led cabinet makes PRTC mandatory for all govt jobs in Tripura

Agartala, July 04: Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate (PRTC) is now mandatory for all government jobs in the state.

The significant decision has been taken by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha-led cabinet in its sitting on Tuesday, Minister for Tourism Sushanta Chowdhury announced at a press conference.

As decided by the council of ministers, Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate (PRTC) would now be required for all recruitment of the state government.

This significant move reflects the government's commitment to prioritizing the interests of Tripura's job aspirants and increasing employment opportunities for them.

Meanwhile, the council of ministers on Tuesday also decided that 35,000 MT paddy would be procured directly from the farmers at Minimum Support Price (MSP) during this Kharif season, Chowdhury told reporters.

An amount of around Rs. 85.64 crore would be spent for implementing the decision, he said, adding that the decision would largely benefit the local farmers.

Since formation of the BJP-IPFT government in 2018, 1.71 lakh MT paddy has been procured from the farmers at an expenditure of Rs. 327 crore.
