Dr. Manik Saha-led Tripura cabinet hikes honorarium of Anganwadi Workers, others

Agartala, Jan 03: Tripura cabinet led by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has taken several important decisions including hike in honorarium of Anganwadi, ASHA workers and others on Tuesday.

At present, there are 9,199 Anganwadi Workers and 9,199 Helpers working under the Social Welfare and Social Education department.

The council of ministers approved a hike of Rs. 600 in the honorarium of the Anganwadi workers and Rs.700 in the honorarium of the Anganwadi helpers.

With this hike, they would now get minimum Rs 8000 and Rs. 5000 respectively, Chowdhury said in a press conference.
He also added that the decision would come into effect from December 01, 2022.

In another major decision, a hike in the monthly pension of retired Home Guards and in duty allowance of Home Guards in service has been approved by the cabinet.

The retired Home Guards' pension has been increased from Rs. 750 to Rs. 2500 while the salary of the Home Guards in service has been hiked to Rs. 19,140 from Rs. 18,140.

The present state government earlier increased their salary to Rs. 18,140 as well as sanctioned dress allowance, Chowdhury said.

The other key decisions included an increase of Rs. 1000 in the honorarium of 7,767 ASHA Workers engaged under the Health and Family Welfare department. They would now get Rs. 2500.

Besides, the Tripura cabinet also increased the honorarium of the cook cum helpers (mid-day-meal) under the School Education department from Rs. 1500 to Rs. 2500 per month.

The cabinet decisions also included a hike in the salary of 2,434 pump operators (drinking water purpose) from Rs. 4,710 to Rs. 7,010 (the hike is Rs. 2300). Besides, the salary of the pump operators engaged in Iron Removal Plant has been hiked from Rs. 5110 to Rs. 7600 (the hike is Rs. 2490), he added.
