Dr Manik Saha to join BJP candidate’s poll campaign in Silchar on Sunday

Agartala, Mar 28: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha is set to visit Silchar in Assam on Sunday to take part in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s election campaign.

During his visit, Dr Saha will campaign in support of BJP’s Silchar nominee Dr Rajdeep Roy, who is also the party’s Tripura prabhari and a former Member of Parliament from Silchar.

As per the scheduled programme, the Tripura Chief Minister will address a public gathering at Kirtoniar Field on Satsang Ashram Road at around 4 pm. After the rally, he will hold an interaction with business leaders and entrepreneurs at a private hotel in the town.

Confirming the visit through a social media post, Dr Roy wrote, “A warm welcome to Dr.Manik Saha in Silchar. Looking forward to insightful interactions and meaningful discussions with citizens, business leaders, and entrepreneurs.”

Assam is set to go to the polls for the Assembly elections on April 9, while the counting of votes will be held on May 4. The state has around 2.50 crore voters and polling will take place across 31,486 polling stations.

Meanwhile, Dr Saha has been actively participating in BJP’s campaign activities in different states. Earlier this week, he joined the party’s election campaign in Waynad, Keralam. 

Dr. Saha is also leading the political engagements in Tripura in view of the upcoming elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
