Drowning: Tripura CM reaches out to grieving families with financial aid

In a compassionate gesture, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday extended financial assistance to the families of seven individuals who tragically lost their lives in separate drowning incidents across West Tripura district recently.

The Chief Minister personally handed over Rs. 4 lakh to each bereaved family during ‘Mukhyamantri Samipeshu’ programme held in the presence of local administrative officials. The aid aimed to provide some measure of relief to the grieving families as they cope with their sudden loss.

The deceased have been identified as Piyali Debbarma and Priyanka Debbarma of Ramsadhupara (Sidhai), Mahindra Singh of Joynagar (Jirania), Tanmoy Debnath of Mandaipara, Liton Saha of Ujan Abhoynagar, Prasenjit Debnath of Brajannagar (Majlishpur), and Ankush Rishi Das of Pratapgarh.

Expressing his heartfelt condolences, Dr. Saha said, “My prayers are with the families during this difficult time. May they find the strength to bear this profound loss.”

The Chief Minister conducted the 45th edition of Mukhyamantri Samipeshu, a public grievance redressal initiative, which continues to strengthen direct communication between citizens and the government.

The Chief Minister wrote on X, "'Mukhyamantri Samipeshu' has now turned into a major platform for the public to get their problems addressed. This initiative has been playing as a bridge between the Government and people. Like previous episodes, today conducted the 45th edition of the programme, addressing the people's grievances & serving them in a better way. Every grievance matters. We are committed to the welfare of all."

The ‘Mukhyamantri Samipeshu’ initiative has been widely appreciated for offering people an accessible channel to voice their problems and get swift redressal from the state administration.
