Drugs-free Tripura: 172 arrested under NDPS Act in past 2 months

As part of Drugs-Free Tripura campaign, Tripura Police registered 118 cases and arrested 172 persons under NDPS Act over the past two months.

According to the Tripura Police’s achievement in the fight against drugs shared by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha in social media on Friday, the arrests were made between May 14 and July 24, this year.

Total 172 persons were arrested and 118 cases were registered under the NDPS Act during this period. Besides, Tripura Police seized 25,775 kg ganja, 19,584 bottles of contraband syrup, 22,267 tablets and 917.23 grams heroin, the Chief Minister mentioned. 

He also mentioned that 42 persons were arrested in connection with 54 cases from May 14 to 31, more 41 persons were arrested and 64 cases were registered from June 1 to 30 and another 35 persons were arrested and 54 cases were registered from July 1 to 24.
