Drugs trafficking: Three Tripura youths arrested in Assam's Karimganj

Agartala, June 12: Three members of a racket involved in supplying drugs to Tripura were arrested from Karimganj in Assam on Wednesday.
The notorious drugs traffickers were held along with 2.20 Yaba tablets in their possession.
The arrest occurred during a routine police check on the Karimganj-Silchar highway near the Lamajua area.
The policeman intercepted a Tripura-boumd numberless vehicle and discovered 2.20 lakh Yaba tablets inside, valued at approximately Rs. 66 crore.
The arrested individuals- Khairul Hossain, Nabir Hossain, and Maman Miah are from Melaghar in Tripura. They were arrested under the NDPS Act.
Preliminary interrogation revealed that the vehicle was on its way to Tripura from Mizoram. Authorities have initiated a probe to uncover the details of the drug trafficking network involved.
Meanwhile, a constable of Tripura Police among two were held along with heroin worth Rs. 25 crore from a vehicle at Damcherra in North Tripura district two days ago. The two drugs traffickers were also coming from Mizoram to Tripura.
