ED conducts raids in multiple locations of Tripura over financial scams

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday carried out extensive search operations across four locations in West Tripura and Sepahijala districts as part of its ongoing investigation into suspected financial scams.

According to inputs, the raids were conducted simultaneously at Khayerpur, Kanchanpalli under Amtali police station, Camper Bazar under A.D. Nagar police station in West Tripura, and Nalchar in Sepahijala.

Teams of ED officials searched the residences of Mihir Debnath near Nabajagaran Sangha at Badharghat, Mampi Ghosh and Swarup Banik at S.D. Mission Road in A.D. Nagar, Haradhan Baidya at Nalchar, and Utpal Kumar Chowdhury at Briddhinagar in Khayerpur.

While no arrest was made during the operation, sources informed that important documents and materials were seized, which are now being scrutinized.

The raids reportedly form part of a broader probe into multiple financial irregularities.
Officials have not yet issued a formal statement, but the crackdown signals a stronger push by the ED against money laundering and other financial crimes.
