Electioneering gains momentum in Nagaland

Feb 15 (AIR News): Campaigning for Nagaland State Legislative Assembly has gained momentum with the arrival of star campaigners and leaders campaigning for their respective political parties. 183 candidates from 12 political parties are in fray for the upcoming State assembly election, which is scheduled on February 27.

The political parties are making all out efforts in wooing the voters through manifesto and declarations.

BJP National President J P Nadda who was the star campaigner for the NDPP-BJP alliance on Tuesday kicked started the election campaign for the parties at state capital Kohima.

Addressing the party leaders of both NDPP and BJP, BJP National President J P Nadda said, under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, they are going to go forward for the next five years.

Nagaland Chief Minister and NDPP leader, Neiphiu expressed appreciation to the national BJP leadership, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah for reposing faith in his leadership and ensuring a firm coalition between NDPP and BJP.

Rio said the 40:20 partnership between NDPP and BJP is based on trust and its agenda is development and peace.

Meanwhile, Congress, NPF, NCP, JD(U) and others have also kicked started campaigning, by holding door-to-door campaign and meetings at village villages, colonies to seek of support from the electorates. Besides, common platform meetings of the indenting candidates are also been carried out at the respective constituencies.
