Flood: Tripura CM prioritizes relief measures for affected people

Agartala, Aug 20: In view of the severe flood caused by heavy showers at various places of Tripura, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha asked the officials concerned to take timely relief measures and provide support to the affected people.

Upon his return from New Delhi on Tuesday evening, the Chief Minister immediately held a high-level meeting to review the flood situation across Tripura.

The meeting focused on assessing the damage caused by the intense rainfall that has led to flooding in several districts, including South Tripura.

During the meeting, Dr. Saha held discussions with senior officials, urging them to ensure that all necessary resources and relief measures are swiftly deployed to support those affected by the floods.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister took to social media to update the public on the government's response to the flood crisis.

“In response, relief centers have been set up to provide support to those affected. The district administration has been instructed to take appropriate action to prioritize public safety and mitigate the impact of the flooding,” he mentioned on social media.

The administration, official sources said, is closely monitoring the situation and remains committed to extending all possible assistance to those in need.
